It was a Fabulous Friday on the Donna and Molly Show with two of our fabulous high school students in Studio B! CHS junior Ashlee Parson and senior Jake Long were eager to share school news and announce the winner of the recent CinderFella pageant.
“It was hilarious,” Ashlee laughed. “I think they will definitely have it again. Jake can tell you more about it – he was in it!”
Jake wasn’t one bit shy about reporting on the all male “beauty” pageant put on as a fundraiser for the CHS softball team. “It was fun,” Jake admitted. “Everyone was so hilarious.” He said participants were chosen by Coach Short. “He pointed and said, ‘you, you and you’!” Jake laughed.
The guys had to refer to each other as “girls” and had “stage” names. Jake said he was known as “Crystal Ball” and he performed ‘I Am Beautiful.’
Other contestants were: Jared Bass – aka “Marsha Mellow, ” Zach Amon – aka “Dusty Bag”, Brock Hubble aka “June Bug”, Michael Griffin aka “Rashel Simmons”, Eric Giddeon aka “Barb Wire”, Gibson Giddeon aka “Carrie Okie”, Josh McCullough aka “Hazel Nut”, Mason Roberts aka “Edna May or May Not”, Zach Mcintosh aka “Miss Hollywood”. The winners were: Third place: Keenan Mackey aka “Imma Hogg”, Second place: Bret Anderson aka “B Low” and the title of Miss CinderFella went to Keegan Myers, “Ginger Vitus.”
Jake and Ashlee said over $2,500 was raised and will be used to buy new uniforms for the softball team.
Other news on Tiger Time: Rotarian Student of the Month is Whitney Linder; Athletes of the Week are: Shuanda Hagler, sophomore – CHS basketball and track and Ricky Ahruberg, sophomore – CHS wrestling and football; CHS basketball teams – guys and gals – are doing well as well as the CHS wrestling team. CHS Band students are working hard and looking forward to All-State and various clinics.
