Shocking! That’s the only word to use to describe the Chandler- Bethel game Friday night. The Lions were dominating the entire game on the scoreboard as well as on the field until a late mistake on special teams in the fourth quarter led to disaster for the Lions. After a accidentally kneeled down punt deep in Chandler territory, the Wildcats took over on the fifteen yard line where they punch the ball in for a touchdown giving them the victory over Chandler 14-13 on senior night.

The Chandler defense couldn’t have played a more complete game holding the Wildcats to just three first downs in the first half and allow zero points. The Lions in the first quarter got their first defensive touchdown off a fumble recovering by cornerback Kyle Hardaway. The Lions were able to tack another score on in the fourth quarter when quarterback Chance Rich hooked up in the end zone with Matt James for a thirty yard touchdown reception. With the loss the Lions fall to (1-8) on the season falling out of playoff contention.

The Lions will look to carry a win into next season, as they will travel to Little Axe(4-5) for the season finale Friday. Listen live to the voices of Chandler Lions football starting at 7:15 on www.1600kush.com
