Part of the Donna and Molly’s Fun Friday episodes include welcoming athletes and students from Cushing High School during the first part of their show.

This past Friday Studio B welcomed CHS football players Matt “Wolverine” Cook, senior, Ben “Big Man” Loftis, junior and Andrew “Hickey Monkey” Hickman, sophomore,  for the kick off of another Fun Friday in the House of KUSH!  The guys were ready to go to Okmulgee to take on the Bull Dogs – and discussed how this year’s football program has seen changes starting with more students going out for the team and how the mindset of the team has changed from past seasons.  The guys sited the coaches as their inspiration, noting the coaching staff has given them the tools needed to believe from the heart that they can be champions this season.

Combined with team spirit and the art of working together as a team, the CHS Tigers took to the road to meet the Bull Dogs and conquered the game with a major win of 35 to 12 Friday night.

You can catch the second half of this game by a streaming archive simply by clicking on the story on the news page of our website for a limited time.

As “Hickey Monkey” Hickman and “Big Man” Loftis left the studio, “Wolverine” Cook stayed as Zach Amon joined in on the fun during the second half of what Donna and Molly have dubbed “Tiger Time” each Friday. Cook is part of the CHS newspaper staff and Zach is involved in FFA and boasts of his guitar talent as well.  We hope to have Zach on again later this year to show off his guitar skills.

Currently at the high school, Kathy Smith’s class is need of food and can donations for a class project.  The NHS is selling key chains in almost every color with personalized information included as part of a fund raiser for the group.  In another fundraiser, the Student Council is selling pink shirts as part of next week’s “Think Pink” week at the Cushing High School focusing on Breast Cancer Awareness.

Athletes and trainers will sport pink socks and pink shoe laces for next week’s football game.

Althletes of the Week are Dawson Myers and Jordan Baugas.  Dawson made some awsome plays in the Bull Dog take down on Friday and Jordan is a key player for the Lady Tiger’s softball team.  The Lady Tigers are currently playing in the McCloud softball tournament with hopes of stealing a title on the road this weekend.

Cushing High School students are encouraged to join the new Facebook page for CHS with a reminder to fill out the survey.

Donna and Molly would love to have students interested in submitting stories and photos for our school page to email us at

[email protected].   We are willing to write letters of reference for those students who submit information as a part of their scholarship process for colleges.

Tune in next week for CHS football and check back to see what is happening at the Cushing High School – it’s all right here on KUSH radio, including streaming of the Donna and Molly Show and sports with the latest school information on the school news page of our website!
