(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing man has been charged with being a felon in possession of a loaded .45-caliber HiPoint semi-automatic pistol that was allegedly stolen from a Cushing woman on July 23.
Martin Wayne Skinner, 50, was released on a personal recognizance bond this week, arraigned on a three-count charge and ordered to return to court with an attorney on Sept. 3.
Skinner was convicted of passing a bogus check in Payne County in 2001, according to court records filed Monday.
If convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, knowingly concealing a stolen gun, and stealing the weapon, all on July 23, Skinner could be incarcerated for 15 years and fined $1,000, court records show.
