(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Yale man who is accused of endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine at his residence and possessing the drug was ordered Tuesday to stand trial on a two-count charge.

Clyde Hershall Britton IV, 30, who waived his right to a preliminary hearing, remains in the Payne County Jail on $25,000 bail pending his arraignment in trial court on June 25.

Britton was arrested at 5:30 p.m. March 24 after a search warrant team composed of members of the Yale Police Department, the Glencoe Police Department and the District 10 Drug Task Force arrived at his residence in the 600 block of W. Beaumont in Yale, court records show.

Yale Police Officer Chris Clark alleged in an affidavit that Britton admitted to Drug Task Force Investigator Todd Fenton that he stores the supplies for a methamphetamine laboratory in his bedroom.

“Britton advised that the person who manufactures the methamphetamine will pick up the supplies from him once ingredients are collected.

“Britton advised that he will collect pseudoephedrine cold pills from numerous persons for the meth cook.

“Britton further stated that he has used methamphetamine for the past eight months non-stop.

“Britton advised the items found in his room were going to be used for manufacturing methamphetamine.

“Britton is supplied methamphetamine for his involvement,” the affidavit alleged.

The Drug Task Force investigator, who has processed over 125 methamphetamine laboratories during his career, indicated that the items located in Britton’s bedroom “are indicative of a one-pot methamphetamine laboratory, also known as a shake-n-bake meth lab,” the affidavit alleged.
