“The squeaky wheel gets the oil.”  That’s a saying we’ve all heard and many have used it to get our needs met.

It has been on the back burner – so to speak – and its delays are  questioned  as parties with interest have watched the progress of this Habitat home come to its current stage.

As any “soon to be” homeowner, the Keyes family has anxiously worked on this home, considering it their own piece of the American dream and it is Habitat For Humanity organizations like Cushing’s, that help makes this dream come true for families just like theirs.  They have met all the requirements asked of them…. gathering volunteers, spending weekends working to further the project that will ultimately provide them with the pride of ownership – a place to call home for their family of five.

Crucial to this home’s completion, is taking advantage of the government tax credit of up to $8,000 for first time buyers.  With delays in the home’s completion, it may be impossible for this family to take advantage of the extension of the tax credit ending on June 30.

I will be raising questions about the delays of this home’s completion and how the community can help make it a reality for this qualifying family during our morning talk show between 8 am and 9 am (the Donna and Molly Show) on Wednesday, June 9.

An open invitation to appear on our show has been extended to any of the board members through phone calls and emails and now in this story, in hope of providing the answers that will ultimately lead to a solution for getting this young family of five their tax credit and a “move in” date.

If you would like to know how you can help with this worthwhile community project, tune in to the Donna and Molly Show details.
