(Stillwater, Okla.) – An ex-convict from Cushing has pleaded guilty to stealing two dirt bikes, tires, fishing poles, a weed eater, portable air tanks, a chain and dirt bike fairing, all from a rural Stillwater man’s property in 2017, as well as an air conditioner from a Cushing man and attempting to elude a Cushing police officer, both in 2016.

Andrew Paul Phelps, 35, who got out of prison in 2009 after serving sentences for auto burglary and possessing a stolen credit card in Payne County in 2005, was given a six-month jail term Friday, with credit for time served, followed by nine and one-half years of probation for his latest crimes, court records show.

Phelps remains on 10 years’ probation for possession of methamphetamine after a former felony conviction in Payne County in 2010, court records show.

Phelps also has convictions from Payne County for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree burglary, both in 2005, court records show. Phelps also has a conviction from Lincoln County for grand larceny in 2005, court records show.

Phelps was ordered Friday to begin paying a total of $14,569 in court costs and assessments on his various Payne County cases, court records show.
