
(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Cushing man, who for the past four months has been serving a 22-year prison term in the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Lincoln County, has been given two concurrent five-year sentences for possessing methamphetamine on June 5, 2017, and on June 11, 2016, both in Cushing.
Marion L. Deal, 46, who has a 28-year criminal record, was sentenced to concurrent prison terms last week in his Cushing methamphetamine cases, to run concurrently to a 22-year prison term he was given four months ago in Lincoln County for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in 2017, after prior felony convictions, court records show.
According to the state Department of Corrections, Deal had been out of prison for nearly three years until he was sentenced on his Lincoln County case on June 15.
His prior criminal record consists of nine other felony convictions, DOC records show:
* uttering a forged instrument in Payne County in 1990 for which he was given a seven-year prison term in 1991 and served about three years;
* grand larceny in Payne County in 1990 for which he was given a concurrent seven-year prison term in 1991 and served about three years;
* marijuana possession in Payne County in 1996 for which he was given a two-year prison term in 1997 and served nine months;
* assault and battery on a police officer in Payne County in 1996 for which he was given a 20-year prison term in 1997 and paroled in 2007;
* escape from arrest in Payne County in 2010 for which he was given a five-year prison term in 2011 and served less than two years;
* marijuana possession in Payne County in 2011 for which he was given a concurrent five-year prison term in 2011 and served less than two years;
* firearm possession after a former felony conviction in 2011 for which he was given a concurrent five-year prison term in 2011 and served less than two years;
* assault with a dangerous weapon after a former felony conviction in Payne County in 2011 for which he was given a concurrent five-year prison term in 2011 and served less than two years;
* firearm possession after a former felony conviction in Lincoln County in 2010 for which he was given a consecutive two-year prison term in 2011 and served less than one year.
