(Stillwater) — A Cushing man has been given a five-year prison term for breaking into his cousin’s next-door neighbor’s house in Cushing where three guns and a camera were stolen in May, and possessing those guns after a drug conviction.

Dustin Jay Watkins, 29, was also given a concurrent five-year prison term for possessing the drug Lortab without a prescription in December in Cushing, in accordance with a plea bargain.

His probation was also revoked in a 2005 Cushing case of possessing methamphetamine and a substance with the intent to manufacture the drug, court records show.

All of his sentences were imposed Friday by District Judge Donald Worthington, who also ordered him to pay a $500 fine, a $150 state crime bureau laboratory fee and a $150 DNA fee, court records show.

His cousin, Johnathan Michael Watkins of Cushing, had already pleaded guilty to breaking into his next-door neighbor’s house in May and received three years’ probation, court records show.

Johnathan Watkins also admitted to making a false pawn declaration of ownership of two rifles stolen in the burglary, possessing marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia, court records show.

At his sentencing last September, Johnathan Watkins was ordered by Worthington to complete any treatment recommendations listed in a background report for the court or any recommendations made by his probation officer.

Dustin and Johnathan Watkins were both arrested on the day of the May 27, 2009, burglary by Cushing Police Detective Adam Harp and later freed on bail set by the court.
