(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is based on a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety (DPS).

 

A personal injury collision occurred May 14th (2018) at approximately 11:18 am on US412 at the intersection of County Road 80, approximately 6.5 miles north and 1/2 mile west of Perry, in Noble County.

 

James Elliot (50) of Jennings was driving a 2005 Peterbilt that was pulling a rock trailer and Gordon Sampson (87) of Enid was the driver of a 2011 Dodge Caravan.

 

The Caravan was eastbound on US412 when it apparently departed the roadway due to the traffic congestion, and the 2005 Peterbilt was stopped (at the stop sign) on County road 80 at the intersection of US412, waiting to go eastbound on US412.The Caravan was on the right of way and traveled approximately 806 feet before impacting the Peterbilt in the (driver’s side) back dual tires of the trailer.

 

A passenger in the Dodge Caravan, Ilene Sampson (82) of Enid, was extricated by Trooper Tyler Langston and Perry Fire Department by use of physical strength.

 

Elliot was not injured, and Gordon Sampson and Ilene Sampson were both transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center (OKC) where they were admitted.
