(Stillwater, Okla.) – A Stillwater couple whose home in the 100 block of W. Elm Street was raided by police have been jailed on $50,000 bail each on charges of possessing the controlled drugs, heroin, codeine, hydrocodone, tramadol and metadate, with intent to distribute, as well as having numerous syringes and working scales described as drug paraphernalia.
Blake Edward Berry, 30, and his wife, Chelsea Lanae Baldwin, 29, could each be given as much as a 10-year prison term and a $100,000 fine if convicted of their felony drug charges, plus a one-year jail term and $1,000 fine if convicted of their misdemeanor paraphernalia charges. Both have been ordered to appear before a Payne County judge on Dec. 4.
Berry “advised he only sells enough heroin to support his own habit,” Stillwater Police Officer Tom Comstock alleged in an affidavit.
When Stillwater police detectives served a search warrant at the couple’s home on Nov. 10, Baldwin was sitting on a couch in front of which was a coffee table with two spoons containing pieces of cotton and heroin residue, the affidavit alleged.
In a pocket of his hoodie, Berry had a silver metal screw cap container with pieces of plastic containing heroin residue and two pills later identified as Vyvance, the affidavit alleged.
Found in the residence were a handwritten drug sale ledger, three individual pieces of heroin packaged in plastic inside a make-up container on the couch, .1 gram of heroin on the living room table, .1 gram of heroin in white plastic on the kitchen counter, five codeine with acetaminophen pills, one hydrocodone with acetaminophen pill, four tramadol pills, one metadate ER pill, numerous syringes loaded with a dark-colored liquid, other syringes both used and unused, a set of working digital scales, and numerous plastic bags with pieces torn off of them in kitchen drawers, the affidavit alleged.
“With the multiple packages of heroin, packaging material, scales and a drug sale ledger, it is believed Berry and his wife, Chelsea Baldwin, are maintaining a heroin distribution enterprise out of this residence,” Comstock alleged in his affidavit.
