Joe R. Manning, Jr. has been selected to lead one of Oklahoma Masonry’s largest branches – the Scottish Rite.
On January 1st, Manning was selected by the national leader of Scottish Rite Masonry in Washington, D.C. to lead the over 10,000 Scottish Rite Masons in Oklahoma. As Deputy for Scottish Rite Masonry in Oklahoma, Manning will exercise all administrative and legislative authority.
Manning began his Masonic career in Cushing DeMolay in 1961 and has been a member of the local Masonic Lodge for 42 years. He has held leadership positions in numerous local, state and national masonic organizations. He served as Executive Director of the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma for 26 years before retiring in June, 2008.
Manning and his wife Cindy, will attend all Scottish Rite meetings in Oklahoma headquarted at Guthrie, McAlester and Tulsa.
Masonry is the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organization promoting charity and encouraging personal personal development and ethics. It has approximately 3 million members worldwide, with over 20,000 in Oklahoma.
