“… a cheerful heart is good medicine.”

 Proverbs 17:22

Many people would like things to return to “normal”.  We must remember that normal is only a setting on the clothes dryer.  With that in mind, I want you to know that I am not normal, nor do I plan to become normal.

On a recent shopping excursion someone requested help over the public address system with “live fish”.  My mind immediately wondered if they requested help with the dead ones.  So you can see, either I’m not okay or I have a strange sense of humor.

Some of the people I meet take life too seriously.  I believe that people who can’t laugh at life, take themselves way too seriously.  People who take themselves too seriously don’t take God seriously enough.  I may not be okay, but that is okay, because God loves me anyway.

God has a great sense of humor.  If you do not believe me, look around.  Not only does God have a sense of humor, He loves you just like you are.  Joy that lasts can come only when we understand the truth that we are not okay, but God loves us anyway.

Prayer for the day:  God, thank You for loving me just like I am.
