What’s been deamed the “Micro Mission” is still a go for Saturday, Oct. 24th at Love’s Excelling Way located at 300 N. Depot in Cushing. Micro Mission is a project to clean up the outer portion of the homeless shelter. According to Terry Brannon the goal is to make the outside reflect what’s inside. Brannon said the inside is neat and clean but the outside – not so much.
He is asking volunteers to come out and help from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. “If you can only come out an hour – that would help,” Brannon told KUSH.
“I think once we get the chain saws going and folks pulling the brush away, it will go quickly.”
Originally the clean up project was slated for Saturday, Oct. 17th but had to be postponed due to weather. Consequently the need for mowing ncreased as the opportunity decreased. Brannon said the property has been mowed and a construction dumpster is in place – “We’re ready to go.”
Suggested items to bring:
1. Gloves
2. Chainsaw
3 Eye protection
4. Weed eater
5. Rake
“I am looking forward to seeing anyone who can attend and help make a difference for out community,” Brannon said.
