(Perkins) – The Cushing Lady Tigers got off to a promising start in their quest to avoid elimination, but a strong 2nd half by Oklahoma City Douglass lifted the Lady Trojan to a 53-49 win in the Regional Tournament in Perkins.

Cushing got a career high 17 points from sophomore Daria Tucker who connected on three – three point buckets and four two pointers to lead Cushing.

The Lady Tigers led 26-17 at half time, and 39-31 at the end of three quarters, but couldn’t hang on down the stretch. Douglass tied the game with about four minutes remaining, and Cushing was never able to get back on top.

Alex Baumert finished with nine points in her final game, fellow senior Celestine Hatfield finished with 10 points, and Jade Watson, also a senior, finished with four points.

Krista Smith added nine points, all from three point range. Cushing finished with a record of 5-18.
