Cushing – Cushing police recovered a stolen trailer, yesterday Aug. 11, 2009 at approximately 5 p.m.  The stolen trailer had been taken from R & M Race Trailers, located at 906 E. Main Street, on the morning of July 18, 2009.  The stolen trailer was recovered from Edward Parrett, Jr., a person already charged in connection with the crime.

According to Cushing Police Chief Terry Brannon, they also received help from area business owners.

“The cooperation from other business owners really began this investigation right from the start,” Brannon said.  “Officer Matthew Piatt did an excellent job working this case, which resulted in Edward Parrett, Jr., being formally charged in Payne county District Court.”

Chief Brannon went on to say Officer Piatt worked with law enforcement officials in Kansas and local sentencing officer Noel Bagwell.

“Officer Piatt had been working with law enforcement officials in Kansas in an attempt to recover the stolen trailer,” Brannon said.  “In addition, the cooperation from our local community sentencing officer, Noel Bagwell, played another significant role in our being able to recover this trailer and return it to our victim.”
