While fireworks are not allowed in the city limits of most towns and municipalities, there are still lots of fun and fireworks planned throughout the Cimarron Valley this
weekend – including Cushing. Thanks to the good citizens of Cushing, the annual Cushing fireworks display will
be Saturday at the Cushing Airport beginning at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs and get there early.
Other events in area include the Drumright 4th of July Celebration featuring rising Oklahoma star Shawna Russell and other artist along the huge fireworks display. The family-friendly event will feature a full day of live entertainment at the Sellers Ranch, north of Drumright. Gates open at 11 a.m. and will run from noon until midnight. The 49th annual Brick & Rolling Pin Festival will be held at Foster Park in Stroud. The event will be kicked off with a patriotic parade at noon. Vendors, pageant, brick and rolling pin competition, old school games and more – culminating in a fireworks display from 9:30 – 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 5th, Immanuel Lutheran Church is sponsering a country summer picnic and home made ice cream social beginning at 5 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Hot dogs, hamburgers and homemade ice cream will be provided.
