City commissioners met for a special meeting Monday evening and voted to approve the proposed agreements between the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 106 (FOP) and the Firefighters, Local 2565. Both agreements are for the fiscal year July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010.
“We worked well with representatives of the FOP,” said Steve Spears. “Hopefully it was a painless process on both sides. I think it is a good proposal agreement.”
Spears continued, saying, “It was a pleasure working with representatives of the two groups. I’m very appreciative of their cooperation.”
Mayor John Henckel echoed Spears sentiment, adding, “Thanks for your diligence and hard work in getting this done before July1st.”
Also approved by the commission, before going into executive session, was the resolution to appoint Stephen B. Cubbage as Municipal Judge of the City of Cushing and the appointment of Sydney Wade Shaw as alternate judge.
