(Stillwater) — A Cushing woman who admitted stealing a former co-worker’s prescription medication while visiting at her residence has been placed on two years’ probation as part of a plea bargain that was approved in court last week.
Jennifer Anne Kimmel, 28, who had pleaded guilty to larceny of the painkilling drug hydrocodone, was also ordered to complete the treatment recommendations listed in a background report for the court.
She must pay $35 restitution, a $500 fine, and a $50 victim’s compensation assessment, as well as perform 50 hours of community service within six months, under District Judge Donald Worthington’s order entered June 8, court records show.
Because she was given a deferred sentence, Kimmel will not have a criminal record if she successfully completes her probationary period.
Kimmel initially denied taking any prescription medication on Sept. 23, 2008, from her former co-worker, Audrey Peals while she was visiting at her residence, Cushing Police Officer Adam Harp wrote in an affidavit.
“Kimmel later admitted to taking four hydrocodone from her prescription bottle.
“Kimmel said that the cabinet in the bathroom was open and she took the four pills because her back hurt,” the affidavit said.
“I asked Kimmel if she is addicted to hydrocodone and she said no,” Harp wrote in his affidavit.
“Kimmel said that there were only four pills left and that she put the empty bottle back into the cabinet,” the affidavit said.
“Kimmel said that she consumed the four pills while at the house,” the affidavit said.
