Distance isn’t an issue when it comes to playing music, at least not in the minds of many musicians. All rational decision making goes out the window when the phone lights up with call regarding the show. Mike Music, Mickey Sandora and Trisha Leone can all attest to this. Music, the kind that is played and listened to, is what brought them together years ago in the mountains of Colorado and it has pulled them back together once again. Although Mike now lives in his native state of Oklahoma and Mickey and Trisha, aka Travelin’ Kind, pick up their mail in Nashville, all the world is a stage and their bags are packed.

Mike Music started his music career at nine years old with a twelve dollar guitar his parents bought him at the local golf mart in Norman, Oklahoma. With a laast name like Music, it is certainly no surprise that music would become a guiding force in his life. Mike learned to play rhythm guitar, backing his father, who played classic country songs in the era of Haggard, Jones and Cash. Mike jokes today that his father did not let him take a “lead-ride” on the guitar until he was in his thirties. Another early influence was his grandmother, Lois, who taught music in elementary school during WWII and played piano at church. The memory of her sitting at the piano with her face “beaming” lefft a powerful impression on Mike about the inward power and “soul” of music, which has passed down through the generations and can be not only heard but felt in what Mike plays today. A dedicated, loyal and highly skilled professional musician, Mike Music plays for all the right reasons.

Mickey Sandora also heard the call of music at the golden age of nine with a Harmony guitar, given to him by his Uncle – There is something special about that first guitar.. Two short years later Mickey was playing clubs in the Philadelphia area and his future as a performing musician was sealed. Today Mickey is an accomplished musician with a long history as a solo act and as a sideman for many legendary artists including Ferlin Husky. As a lead player, Mickey’s fretwork is first-class, filled with a passion that comes from deep within. Whether it be on an electric or acoustic guitar, Mickey adds an exceptional touch to every song he plays. Mickey is also the owner of Sandora Amplification and has his own line of hand-wired boutique guitar amplifiers including the well-known “Sandora’s Box.”

Trisha Leone was raised in Colorado Rockies and has been writing songs since she was a young teenager. She received a Master Certificate of Songwriting from the Berklee School of Music and has spent the last several years co-writing with top Nashville writers as well as writing and releasing her own material. Some of her songs have received critical acclaim as well as frequent radio airplay. Trisha met Mickey at a jam session and a short time later, the two of them became partners in life and music. She also serves as volunteer musician for Musicians On Call and The Country Music Hall of Fame, where she is part of the Words & Music education program. Through solid bass lines, rhythm guitar and distinct vocals, Trisha is a genuine artist who paints a beautiful picture through a song.
