Thursday, May 7th is the 58th annual National Day of Prayer observance. It is to encourage people of all faiths to pray for the nation. This year’s theme, “Prayer – America’s Hope,” is based on Psalms 33:22 which states: “May your unfailing love rest upon us O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.”
The public is invited to begin the day of prayer by attending a breakfast sponsored by local churches at Steer Inn. Leaders in the community will pray for the city, the state and the nation and its citizens.
Students are invited to meet at their school’s flagpole to share a moment of prayer. Please check with your school for exact times and places.
At 10 a.m. the First Pentecostal Church will host an observance at Linwood Village.
Through out the day, the public is invited to stop by the First Baptist Church and pray. Prayer requests will be available for those who may want to pray for a specific need.
At noon, tune into 1600 KUSH AM radio to hear this year’s prayer.
