(Cushing) – Cushing voters are deciding two tax questions today, and polls will be open until 7:00 PM. On the ballot are two questions, one would extend a .8% sales tax approved by voters 5 years ago and make it permanent, with the proceeds to be used for capital improvements. The measure was originally approved for construction of the sports complex on the east side of Cushing and improvements to the Cushing Public Library. If approved, the proceeds of the tax would be used for public safety infrastructure improvements.
The second tax question would levy a 4 % Hotel/Motel tax.
School Board races are on the ballot In Yale, Glencoe and Perkins-Tryon and a school bond issue is on the ballot in the Mulhall-Orlando school district.
