(Cushing) – Philip Wilson Scored 18 points and Dwayne Vaughn added 14 as Cushing defeated Bristow Friday night. The game marked the first return to the friendly confines of the CHS fieldhouse in a month for the Tigers, and the first contest of 2009 at home. Cushing opened the game with a 9-0 run and never looked back. Bristow got as close as five in the first quarter, but the Tigers 24-13 by the time the quarter ended, and were up 39-26 at halftime. Dwayne Vaughn nailed a three pointer at the buzzer to end the first half. Cushing went on to win 67-45.

The Lady Tigers lost by 10, but were competitive from start to finish. Cushing led throughout most of the first quarter, and were up 13-10 at the start of the second period. At halftime, it was a one point Bristow advantage, 18-17.
Bristow outscored Cushing in the 3rd period 10-4 to begin to pull away, and the final score ended up 36-26.

Saturday is Homecoming for the Tigers and Lady Tigers, with the Perry Maroons coming to town. Junior varsity play begins at 4:00 PM, and the Lady Tigers will tip-off at 6:30.
