Ralph W. Simpson, a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 in the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 78 years.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Yale with burial to follow in the Lawson Cemetery.

The son of the late Earl W. Simpson and Elvira (Claxton) Simpson, Ralph was born on June 4, 1930 in Stroud, OK. He was reared and educated mostly in Stroud and some in Missouri. Ralph was a member of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict where he received the Purple Heart.

On September 2, 1950 Ralph was united in marriage to Beulah Welch in Westville, OK. The couple made their home in Yale after their marriage before moving to California for nine years. They moved back to Yale in 1963 where Ralph worked as a mechanic. In his spare time he enjoyed doing yard work, working on different working projects, and remodeling.

Survivors include his wife Beulah of the home; three sons, Thomas Simpson and his wife LaDawn, Bill Simpson and his wife Randy, and Johnny Simpson all of Yale; two sisters, Berniece Anderson and her husband Jimmie of Cushing and Fredona Alsip of Ingalls, OK; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including his best friend whom he considered his brother, Vernon Hammock.

In addition to his parents, one brother, Eddy Simpson, preceded Ralph in death.
