Ruth A. Riffe, age 96 of Faribault, MN and formerly of Cushing, OK. Ruth surrounded by her loving family went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. While living at Faribault Senior Living in Faribault, Minnesota.
Ruth Ann, the daughter of Frank and Dora (George) Patterson was born on September 18, 1928. Ruth was united in marriage to Jack Riffe on July 7, 1945 in Carnegie, OK. Ruth was a loving wife, mother (of 6 children), and homemaker. Ruth had many talents, singing, playing accordion, sewing, quilting, ceramics, crocheting, and knitting just to name a few.
Ruth never met a stranger and worked as a beauty operator for Walnut ST beauty shop in Owatonna, helped her husband in their business in Owatonna (Rifco Construction), and was a bookkeeper for their church. She was a member of Grace Senior Worship in Cushing and a member of the board. She also attended and enjoyed all her years attending the Cushing Senior Center.
She is survived by her children, Glen Riffe of Colorado Springs, CO, Duane (LeaAnn) Riffe of Naples, FL, Edward (Michelle) Riffe of Owatonna, MN and Deb (Jaime) Sonnek of Faribault, MN; by 14 grandchildren, Michael Riffe, Glendon Riffe, Robert Riffe, Richard Riffe, Jeannie Hoarau, Katie Riffe, Bryan Riffe, Jason Riffe, Laina Kennedy, Kristie Akbar, Jake Riffe and Nick Riffe; 31 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren and by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack, by two sons, Jim Riffe and Ronald Riffe, daughter-in-law, Doreen, two grandsons, two great grandsons, one great-great grandson and many family members.
Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matherly-Davis Funeral Home in Cushing, OK with Ben James officiating. Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorials be directed to the American Heart Association or American Kidney Fund in memory of Ruth.
