(Cushing, Okla.) Wednesday, Sept. 28th, Cushing police Detective Adam Harp arrested two rural Cushing residents after a lengthy investigation into the rash of recent acts of vandalism in the downtown area, including the Cushing Public Library. The investigation began earlier this month and continued, resulting in issuance of arrest warrants Wednesday for both suspects believed to be responsible for the crimes.
Arrested was Ricky D. Johnson, WM, 18 years of age, and Devon Lee Dominguez, WM, 18 years of age. Both live in rural Cushing. Both were arrested on two counts each of Malicious Injury to Property. Bond for Johnson and Dominguez was set at $5,000 each. Both are being held in the Cushing jail in lieu of bond as of this afternoon.
“I am very pleased that this crime has been solved,” Chief Terry Brannon said. “I appreciate the crime tips we received that eventually led to this crime being solved,” Brannon said. “Our new Crime Stoppers organization was also helpful, and I appreciate their support during this investigation.”
Cushing police spent a portion of the afternoon on Tuesday collecting additional evidence connected to the crimes downtown.
“I want to commend Detective Harp, MPO Sappington, Officer Carson Watts, Officer Lucas Armenta, MPO Bill McCarty, Officer Matt Piatt, and Officer Jerrod Livergood for collectively working on this investigation over the last month.” “The officers never gave up when some of our leads slowed down so this is another testament to the people you have serving you here in Cushing”, Brannon said.
