Sooners Win Bedlam, Headed to San Antonio For Missouri Rematch
(Norman) — Allen Patrick ran for 202 yards, and the Oklahoma Sooners ran away from cross-state rival Oklahoma State to secure a spot in the Big 12 Championship game. In al liklihood, OU was going to San Antonio whatever the outcome Saturday, but the Sooners added an exclamaton point to their South Division Title with a 49-17 shellacking of the Cowboys. Patrick, benched last week after a critical fumble in the OU loss to Texas Tech in Lubbock, returned with a career perormance, running for one touchdown, and catching a pass for another. Tight End Joe Jon Finley caught two TD passes, and Quarterback Sam Bradford, finished with 150 yards passing and four TD passes. Bradford returned from a concussion sustained in the first quarter of the loss at Texas Tech. Oklahoma played without leading rusher DeMarco Murray, who is also expected to miss the Big 12 Championship game against Missouri.
OSU could manage only two incursions into the end zone, both by Dantrell Savage, who scored on a pass from Zach Robinson, and later a six yard run. That touchdown was set up by an interception of a Bradford pass.
The Sooners finish the regular season with an overall record of 10-2, and a Big 12 record of 6-2. The Cowboys are 6-6 overall and 4-4 in conference.
