(Stillwater) — The filing period for area school board seats has opened, and for the Cushing Board of Education, one incumbent has filed for re-election.

Frank Denney filed his declaration of candidacy with the Payne County Election Board in Stillwater this morning. The other incumbent, Janet Bosworth, has reportedly decided not to seek re-election. Two seats on the Cushing School board are up for election. The filing period closes Wedensday at 5:00 PM.

Joanne Baugus, an Incumbent, filed for re-election to the Oak Grove Board of Education Monday Afternoon.

In Ripley, Imogene Stanford is the only person to file thus far, and in Yale, Steve Winterbottom is the only person to file for a seat on the Yale Board of Education.

School board seats are up for election in all Payne County school districts, and the elections will take place in February.
