Kin M. Hodges, a Cushing area resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Cushing Regional Hospital, at the age of 76 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK. Private family services will be held at a later date.
The son of the late Willard C. Hodges and Christeany (Rhymer) Hodges, Kin was born on October 14, 1934 in Elk Township, North Carolina. He was reared and educated in Triplett, North Carolina and on February 15, 1954 he entered into the United States Air Force. Kin served as a missile technician while in the Air Force and eventually retired in 1974 after 20 years of service.
Kin was united in marriage to Barbara O’Kelley on July 26, 1959 in Salina, KS and to this union two children, Rick and Kinnetha, were born.
Kin and Barbara moved to Wyoming in 1964 where they continued living until they moved permanently to Cushing area in 2005. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his large vegetable garden. Kin was a member of the “Homestead Breakfast Club.”
Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; one son, Rick Hodges and his wife Lori of Lawton, OK; one daughter, Kinnetha Dunn and her husband Mitch of Longmont, CO; six grandchildren, Jenette, Aaron, Leslie, Tabitha, Felicia, and Lucy; six great-grandchildren; four sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Kin was preceded in death by two brothers.
