Johnnie Dewey Ventris, age 72, a longtime Ripley resident, passed away, Friday May 20, 2011 at his residence in Ripley.
Graveside services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK, and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Hughes officiating.
Johnnie was born February 24, 1939 in Stillwater, OK to the late George Dewey and Kitty Lucille (Webster) Ventris. He grew up and attended school in Stillwater. Johnnie married the loved of his life Anna Lee Snyder on December 3, 1967 in Orleans Parrish, LA. He worked at many various jobs over his life. He liked to work at the Tire and Mechanic shop in Ripley. Johnnie liked to tinker with odd jobs. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Johnnie is survived by sons, Steve Ventris and wife Mary of Glencoe, Johnnie Conrad Ventris of Ripley, Johnny Glass of Marietta, OK, Harvey Ventris of Ripley, George Ventris of Ripley; two daughters, Shirley Posey and husband Mac of Stillwater and Jodie Jones and husband Sherman of Ripley; two brothers, Bob Rosiere and wife Doris of Ripley, OK, and George Rosiere and wife Betty of Nicoma Park, OK and one sister Helen Lewis and husband Bill of Ripley, OK., 23 Grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Anna Lee Ventris and his parents, his son Timmy Ventris, his brothers Felix Rosiere and Jr. Rosiere, sister Cathryn Hall.
