(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Cushing woman and a man, who is an ex-convict from Cushing, have been charged together with possessing substances in the Cushing Walmart parking lot with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine on Sept. 27.

Tammie Lea Brown, 40, and John Curtis Lord, 31, could receive life prison terms if convicted of possessing methamphetamine, a glass jar and an orange canister both having the drug’s residue, a baggy containing ammonia nitrate, a baggy containing salt and 10 pseudoephedrine tablets — with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine on Sept. 27.

Brown remains free on $25,000 bond pending an Oct. 12 court appearance with an attorney, while Lord remains jailed on $25,000 bail pending a Wednesday court appearance.

In the case investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Brown was also charged with driving with an expired license tag in the Cushing Walmart parking lot and possessing the painkilling drugs oxycodone and hydrocodone without a prescription on Sept. 27, court records show.

Brown and Lord were both charged with possessing drug paraphernalia — a used syringe, unused coffee filters, a baggy containing a pseudoephedrine pill, a small canister containing oxycodone and hydrocodone and a coin bag containing the drug Alprazolam without having any medical or lawful need, also on Sept. 27.

Two years ago, Lord was placed on five years’ probation for possessing methamphetamine east of Cushing in a 2008 case investigated by the OHP, court records show.

Lord previously served one year in state prison after his five-year probationary sentence for possessing the prescription drug Valium with intent to distribute in Cushing in 2004 was revoked in 2006, court records show.
