(Yale, Okla.) Robert Felts, Worshipful Master, and Robert Meyers, Past Master, of Cushing Masonic Lodge #111 recently presented a check to Vickie Dunlap, President of Xi Delta Pi Sorority in Yale, Oklahoma, for an amount of $1019. The Cushing Masonic Lodge and the Yale women’s sorority worked together on a chili dinner fund raiser prior to a Yale High School Football game this past month. The Cushing Lodge matched the amount of $1019 that was raised at the dinner.
Xi Delta Pi Sorority annually supports the Yale Angel Tree Program. Proceeds from various fund raisers go to support children in the Yale area, who would not otherwise have many of the traditional Christmas gifts (or necessities). In 2010 the sorority provided over $7,000 in shoes and clothing for children through the Angel Tree program. Members of Xi Delta Pi will gather at the First Baptist Church in Yale on December 19 to put together packages for children in this year’s program. So far 150 children have been accepted for the 2011 Angel Tree and more are expected.
The Cushing Masonic Lodge supports projects in Yale since the Yale Masonic Lodge merged with Cushing several years ago.
