Lance Widener passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 in Cushing at the age of 58 years.
The son of John Widener and Mary Ruth Shanks Widener, Lance was born on October 14, 1953 in St. David's Island, Bermuda. He came to Cushing as a small child and received his education in the Cushing schools, graduating from Cushing High School. Following high school he attended Oklahoma University for one year and then received a degree in Industrial Designs from Central Technology.
Lance was currently employed with Gas Tech Engineering in Tulsa, moving to Cushing a couple of weeks ago to be near his father, John Widener.
He attended a Baptist Church in Tulsa; was a veteran of the United States Air Force; he enjoyed riding Harley motor cycles, his cats and was an avid Oklahoma University fan.
In addition to his father, he is survived by one sister Sheryl "Sherry" Lee of Fallbrook, California, and other relatives and friends.
His mother, Mary Widener, and a brother Terry Widener has preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10 A.M. in the First Christian Church with Reverend Larry Haney, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be held in Fairlawn Cemetery.
