
Ellouise GouldEllouise Gould, longtime Cushing resident and business owner, passed away early Thursday morning, March 8, 2012, at the Walnut Grove Living Center in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was 83 years of age.
The daughter of Ted and Madeline Allen, Ellouise was born on August 18, 1928, in Cushing and was raised and educated in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School.
Ellouise was united in marriage to Edward Allen Gould, Jr., on October 28, 1950 and to this union three children, Cynthia Allena, Edward Allen III, and Matthew Thomas were born. Ellouise was a devoted and beloved wife and mother.
Ellouise grew up in the First Baptist Church and joined the First Presbyterian Church after her marriage to Allen. Ellouise was committed to and active in her church. She belonged to the Women's Association and to Mariners. She attended bible school in Cleveland Tennessee.
Ellouise's greatest passion was for her family. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and godchild, and she supported them in all their endeavors.
Ellouise started her real estate career in the office of McLaury Real Estate. In due time she was licensed as a Broker and opened her own office. In 1979 Ellouise opened the first Century 21 franchise in Cushing. Ellouise served the Cushing real estate community for many years, including service on the Cushing Board of Realtors, Cushing Multi List and member ship in the Oklahoma Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Along with her Realtor Certification she was a Graduate of the Realtors Institute. Ellouise believed in her community and served on the Planning Commission for the City of Cushing. She was a big supporter of the Cushing Youth and Community Center and the Chamber of Commerce, serving on various committees and fund raisers. She was also a former member of P.E.O., Hypatia Club, and the Pilot Club.
Survivors include her children, Cindy Pilgrim of Colorado Springs, Colorado, E. Allen "Tig" Gould, III, of Harrah, Oklahoma and Matthew Gould and his wife Melanie of Fort Collins, Colorado; two brothers, Ben and Bill Allen; 6 grandchildren, Mary Pilgrim and her husband Mike Jebb of Oregon, Anna Loyd of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Robert Gould, Hanna Gould, Natalie Gould, and Jordan Gould all of Fort Collins, Colorado; 2 great-granddaughters, Skyla and Piper Loyd both of Blackwell; one godchild, Marsha Gonzaga; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including her family at Century 21 Jolley Realty.
Ellouise is preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Allen, who passed away on May 22, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Allen, a longtime resident of Big Spring, Texas.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Cushing with Bill Allton, Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
