(Cushing, Okla.) "Unbelievable" is the word Peggy Hoover used when describing the support she has received from the community in her fight against breast and bone cancer.
From daily comments on her Facebook page - Believe in a Miracle for Peggy Hoover - to proceeds from numerous fundraisers, Peggy is thankful for the community support she has received thus far.
People in the community have been very creative in coming up with ways to raise money for Peggy. Some have made beautiful jewelry to sell. A fellow Wilson employee organized a t-shirt sale to bring in proceeds. And most recently, Peggy's friends and church family organized a fundraiser dinner.
"Cards, calls, and money - it always comes at the right time," Peggy said.
Since Peggy must travel to Phoenix for her cancer treatments, all the funds raised or donated go to help cover her air travel expenses, hotel, food, gas, co-pays and payments the insurance does not pay.
"God has blessed me far beyond what I could have ever imagined while going through this sickness," Peggy said. "From the bottom of my heart - I thank you."
