UPDATE: THE CUSHING TIGERS HAVE JUST DEFEATED THE NUMBER ONE STATE 4A RANKED DOUGLASS TROJANS! 16 TO 7 FINAL SCORE!
Cushing Fans stand in support for the
last minutes of this historic game at O'Dell Field as the Trojans
fail their attempt to score.
Orginal story:
(Cushing, Okla) - The Cushing Tigers enter the sixth week of the season in need of a win, not just to turn around a three game losing skid, but also because it will take four wins in district play to qualify for a playoff berth, and there are only five games left.
The task won't be any easier for the Tigers with the top ranked team in 4A in town for a 7:30 clash at Faye O'Dell Field.
The Trojans are not only ranked number one, they are the defending state champions, who many have already penciled in for a repeat.
Cushing, now 2-3 on the season, lost a heart breaker to Glenpool a week ago, a contest that saw Cushing going for the win on the road with a two point try late in the game that would have put the Tigers up by a point. That two point try failed, an end around that ended up a yard short.
