(Cushing) - Three people have thrown their hats in the ring for two available seats on the Cushing Board of Commissioners. Both Incumbents, John Henckel, and Tommy Johnson were among the first to file on Monday when the filing period opened at City Hall. Also filing for a seat was James Ree, who filed for seat four, currently held by Johnson.
The filing period closes at 4:00 PM Wednesday. Candidates for the Cushing Board of Commissioners file declarations of Candidacy with the Cushing City Clerk's Office, while all other filings for municipal office in Payne County are done with the Payne County Election Board office in Stillwater. Those filings end at 5:00 PM Wednesday.
