H. B. Webb, 93, passed away at home on March 5, 2019 after a short illness.
H. B. was born in Oxford, Arkansas on March 27, 1925 and moved to Cushing with his parents when he was 15, just three houses from Lenora Harlan. They were married on November 22, 1944. They would have been married 75 years this November. They lived in Cushing since their marriage except for six months in 1945 when they lived in Idaho and six months in 1946 in Washington State.
H.B. began working at Hughes Lumber Company in February 1947 and worked for them 37 years before his retirement in 1984. He also became a Locksmith in 1961 and continued until 2005 when he fully retired and turned his locksmith business over to Jim Cranford, who continues it today. He was a long-time member of the First Church of God in Cushing. He was an avid fisherman, camper and gardener. He loved his family and his family loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora, of the home, two sons, Walter (Sonny) Webb and wife Debbie, and John Webb, both of Cushing, grandchildren Clint Webb and wife Tammy (Cushing), Andrea Hardcastle and husband Mike (Coppell, TX), Jeanette Rogers and husband Jimmy (Oklahoma City), daughter-in-law Linda Anderson (Cushing) and her daughter Tara Bowers and husband Aaron (Oklahoma City), eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His great grandson Kai Webb shared his birthday of March 27.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and 17 brothers and sisters being the last one of them to die, daughter-in-law Lydia Webb and great grandson triplets.
His funeral service will be held Monday March 11, 2019 at the First Church of God in Cushing at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Sunday evening, March 10, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the Funeral Home.
