2013 Relay For Life
Residents of Cushing/Drumright made a giant step towards a cure for
cancer on June 1st, 2013 when they walked throughout the night during
the American Cancer Society Relay For Life Celebration! More than
18 teams and 215 people came together during this year's Relay raising a total of $98,784.22 which exceeded the goal of $90,000. Money
raised during Relay For Life helps fund the American Cancer Society's
mission of eliminating cancer by helping people stay well, get well,
finding cures, and fighting back. The American Cancer Society is the
largest non-profit supporter of new cancer research and the largest
voluntary health organization fighting cancer in our country and around
Baker Pharmacy's Relay for Life team was on a quest to raise at least $5,000 by May 24th. The team surpassed the $5,000 mark by raising a total of $5,791.86 for the American Cancer Society.

The First Christian Church - Disciples for a Cure- Relay for Life team invites everyone to an Indian Taco Dinner, Monday, April 29, 2013 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) located at 300 E. Moses St. in Cushing.
Relay for Life team "Can-Fight-Cer" is inviting all bikers to participate in a Poker Run to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Centennial Park in Cushing. Registration fee is $25 for driver or $40 per couple. This fee does include a lunch and entertainment for all paid participants.
The First Christian Church Relay for Life team has set their sights for
the second year in a row to walk from Mannford to Cushing as a
fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. This year, several members
will also be walking from the Logan County Line to meet the Mannford
walkers in Cushing.
Baker Pharmacy is urging everyone to "Paint the Town Purple" every Friday as a way to support Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
The First Christian Church Relay for Life team is selling their famous
chocolate covered strawberries. Just $10 for a box of 6 strawberries.
Cushing-Drumright Relay for Life is holding its "kick-off" event this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 300 E. Moses in Cushing.The 2013 Relay for Life will kick off with this "souper" fundraiser dinner consisting of homemade chili and soups and a performance by the Matherly family.

The community once again came together to show its support of the American Cancer Society and cancer research by giving - giving of their time, energy and money. At the end of the day, Relay for Life teams had surpassed the goal of $70,000 by more than $17,000.
Relay for Life, Cushing, asks Cushing residents and businesses to Go Purple in support of the fight against cancer. This year's Relay for Life starts June 23rd at 5:30 p.m. at the Cushing High School track and will end with a sunrise service at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
