Mildred Lee Cannon, 85, of Cushing, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on
April 19, 2012 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held
at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the First United Methodist
Church in Cushing with Reverend Ted Uhlig and Reverend Sonja Tobey
officiating. There will be no graveside service. Strode Funeral Home is
in charge of arrangements.
Plans are in full force for this years event with lots of great
activities planned for all! Don't miss this opportunity to catch
up with old friends and have a great time!
Here is a summarization of the minutes from the CHS Alumni Association meeting held Nov. 2, 2011. Next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Hall.All interested parties are welcome to attend.
The future of the Cushing Alumni Association and the iconic ALL CLASS CHS ANNUAL REUNION WEEKEND traditionally held on Memorial Day Weekend will be discussed at the CHS Alumni Hall located downtown on Broadway on November 2.
Nelda Rice Wilson, 80, passed away surrounded by her family July 31, 2011 in Tulsa, Okla. Services will be held at Downtown Bixby Church of Christ, Wednesday, August 3rd at 2 p.m. officiated by her dear cousin the Reverend Charles Rice of Pennsylvania. A Cushing graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Fairlawn Cemetery.
It's right around the corner - Cushing Alumni Weekend! For over 25 years, Cushing alumni have been coming back home to celebrate their lives during and after high school. This year is no different. Here is this year's calendar of events:
Patti Lou (Farris) Holman Brandle died Sunday April 17th at the Linwood Village Nursing Home of complications of Lung Cancer.
A Cushing native Patti was born August 10, 1931 to Patsy (Vaughn) of
Cushing and Luther Farris of Yale. She was married to Joe Holman in 1949
and lived in New Orleans LA. and Tulsa Ok until returning to Cushing in
1959, where she lived until her death. She married Verdun Lee Brandle
of Cushing in1966.

It was brought
from Guthrie, Oklahoma by team and wagon to be placed in the belfry
of the first wooden school building in Cushing, September 1895 on the
old Central Ground.
Class of 1963 celebrates 47 years of memories!
Great BBQ, Karaoke and music set the stage for the long standing tradition of bringing alumni near and far to the 26th Annual All Class Alumni Weekend in downtown Cushing Friday evening.
One of Cushing's long time educators, Mrs. LaRue Bondurant, will turn
90 years old this week. To celebrate her birthday, and to honor her
many years as an educator, she will be featured in this weekend's
Alumni Parade.
The Cushing Alumni Association is proud to announce the Hall of Fame inductee for 2010 is Jim E. Hunter.
Jim E. Hunter is a 1952 CHS graduate and has lived in Cushing his
entire life. Born at home - "on the hill" (Oak Street & Kings
Highway), he attended Lincoln School throughout his elementary years
and went on to complete Cushing Junior High and Cushing High School.

Cushing High School registrar and business education teacher, died on
Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
