Tour de Quartz At Lachenmeyer Arts Center
The Lachenmeyer Arts Center will host "Tour de Quartz" through September 8, 2010.  The exhibit features paintings and photographs produced by Oklahoma high school students who participated in the 2010 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain State Park in southwestern Oklahoma.

August Lunch & Learn Schedule
Cushing Regional Hospital will be hosting their monthly Lunch & Learn on Friday, Aug. 27th in the Auxiliary Education Room.  This month's topic - Depression in Seniors.

HOT TEMPERATURES INCLUDE A HOT SEASON OPENER FOR LADY TIGERS
With the start of the 2010-2011 school year quickly approaching, the Cushing High School  lady tigers softball team coached by head coach Chad Short and assisted by Charles Copeland and Lonnie Schuler, opened their season by hosting and winning a 22 team tournament the 12-14 of August at the Cushing Sports Complex. 

Tim Jessell's Return Visit to Cushing Rotary Club
Almost exactly one year ago, illustrator Tim Jessell was the special guest of Rotarian of the Day Khris Fowler.  This year Jessell returned, not to talk about his art, but about another one of his passions - falconry.

FOUND FEMALE DOG
This girl dog was found on Highway 18 north of Cushing.  She has a tag, but neither her name or the name of her owner has not been identified. 

Piecemakers Announces FIRST EVER Cookbook!
The PIECEMAKERS Quilt Guild of Cushing announces their "first ever" Cookbook which will be arriving sometime after January 1st.

Lion of the Day Talks African Safari
Lion of the Day, John Fechner shared photos and told of his recent trip to Africa where he experienced trophy hunting and some "amazing" sunsets.

Parole a Pet Grads Featured Pets of the Week
This week's featured pets are BRANDIE AND CANDIE.  They are 7 month old Rottweiler puppies that have graduated from the Parole a Pet program.

Ready...set...kick it off!  The Love Thy Neighbor Kick-Off event is coming up soon - 6 to 9 p.m. Friday Aug. 13th at Whitlock Park in Drumright.
