The Corridor Magazine will host their 2nd annual A Wedding on The Corridor Bridal Fair and Style Show, Saturday, Feb. 23rd from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Route 66 Interpretive Center in Chandler.
Central Rural Electric Cooperative invites high school juniors attending
a school or home schooled in its service area to enter the 2013
Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., essay contest. CREC
will sponsor two contest winners who will join a delegation of high
school students from across Oklahoma for an all-expense-paid tour of the
nation's capital June 14-20, 2013. Students do not have to be CREC
members to enter.
Adult volunteers are needed to help proctor 8:30 a.m. EOI (End of Instruction) and AP (Advanced Placement) tests beginning Thursday, April 18th through Wednesday, May 15th.
A Cushing Youth "Truth Rally" will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20th through Friday, Feb. 22nd. The Rally is for "Youth of all ages" who wish to learn more about creation vs evolution from the Creation Truth Foundation and local Cushing churches.

Several people from Cushing joined others at LaFortune Park in Tulsa
Saturday to participate in the Conquer Chiari walk. Hannah Blankinship,
8, and Sara Payne Keyes were just two of many who have been diagnosed
with Chiari Malformation who came out to walk to bring awareness to the
little-known and often misdiagnosed disorder.
The Safety Alliance of Cushing (SAC) announced a fundraiser for local fire departments. A Sporting Clay event will be held Sept. 29, 2012 at Silver Shotgun, located at 8513 S. Douglas Blvd in Guthrie. Entry fees are: $150 per person or $750 per team.
State official reported that 376 homes were destroyed in the recent
wildfires in Creek County. Of those all the homes destroyed or damaged
by the fires, it is estimated 85 percent were uninsured.
In response to those overwhelming needs, Bristow Social Services and
Root's Hometown Furniture & Appliances have established a Relief
Center for furniture, bedding, appliances and housewares for wildfire
victims.
Central Tech will host a USDA and SBA Disaster Assistance Workshop for farmers, ranchers and small businesses on August 30, 2012 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Central Tech Business Center.
Members of the Cushing 4-H Club visited the Donna & Molly Show to tell listeners of their 4th Annual Steak Dinner on Saturday, Aug. 4th at the Cushing-Drumright Elks Lodge. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner and Entertainment from 5:30 - 7 p.m.
Hillcrest Hospital Cushing invites everyone to join them at the 6th Annual CARE Health Fair on Thursday, July 26th. Lots of vendors, giveaways, and health information will be available at the Cushing Senior Citizen Center located at 203 E. Cherry between the hours of 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
The Ripley Christian Connection has made it their mission to give each elementary student in Ripley a new backpack filled with needed supplies. To try and meet their goal of 249 filled backpacks, two fundraisers have been scheduled.
The numbers are in - the 2012 Summer OilPatch Festival set a new record
for the number of people attending the annual "party" at the Seller's Ranch in
Drumright. This year's total was a whopping 13,500.
Bronc
riding just seems to come naturally to 16-year-old Jordan Root. The Bristow teen didn't even start riding
horses until his "Papaw" Rick Root gave him his first horse as an 8th
grade graduation present in 2010. But
since then, not only has Jordan participated in barrel racing, flags and poles
in the Beggs Round Up Club, he has recently developed a love for ranch bronc
riding.
